About Me

“I have spent most of my life exploring alternative ways learning how to heal and evolve through creativity, expression, spirituality and earth wisdom.”

I share what I have learnt to inspire others on their own path to self-expression, self-healing and personal development.

Background

I have always enjoyed what was referred to at my school as ‘creative subjects’ growing up in Essex and enjoyed journaling in diaries from a young age, writing poetry and taking photographs, which took me into nature. This provided a much needed sanctuary for me from a chaotic home life, after my parents’ divorce.  Being in nature proved to be the constant in my life, offering a much needed place of stillness. This has inspired my working with others seeking peace with a desire for a deeper connection to earth.

I have always seen and felt what I call ‘Spirit’ from a young age. So I guess, my path was always going to be influenced by these interests. I began practicing meditation in my early 20’s and feel my daily practice helps stay grounded and centred in myself and keeps me on track!

EARLY WORK HISTORY

I started work at 16, but returned to college to study social care. At 19, whilst volunteering with a community art group for young people with mental health issues, I discovered how beneficial and therapeutic creative expression was to our clients.   I then worked in a psychiatric hospital as an O.T. Helper, providing creative activities for patients on two wards, deepening my interest in healing through creative expression.

At 21, I randomly applied for a job to become a professional stuntwoman—a brief but dramatic rise and fall, quite literally! An accident left me with lasting injuries and by my mid 20’s, I was struggling with my health.

Searching for ways to get better took me down the path of alternative health. I went on to study and practice reflexology and acupressure chair massage in businesses in London and for the NHS in Essex, continuing part-time after my son, Noah, was born.

DANCE MEDICINE

During the 90’s, I began exploring how to work with my body’s ability to move in a more mindful way, re-kindling my love of movement.  I travelled to Dublin for two years to study with Lani O’Hanlon Lani O’Hanlon | The Poetry Foundation and Antoinette Spillane (who has now sadly passed).

Their course used the chakra system, (body’s energy centres), as a framework for exploring somatic movement, dance, meditation and creative expression and I qualified as a teacher in ‘Dancing The Rainbow’ in 2002.  Much of what I learnt still informs the ‘bones’ of my creativity and teachings for Rainbow Shaman Expression & Dance.

Chronicling our process in a creative way led to me painting the stones that later transformed into the Power Stone Cards.  I use these in my Power Stone Readings and teach others how to use them as tools for personal enquiry, developing higher self and creative journaling.

HEALING

During the 90’s, I joined and worked in a community that hosted courses with many amazing teachers at that time, including Leo Rutherford and Gabrielle Roth. I experienced my first ‘shamanic journey’ assisting on one of Leo’s courses and became interested in modern approaches to ancient shamanic practice.

After leaving, I settled and raised Noah in rural village in Dorset whilst running dance workshops and practicing alternative therapies from home.  I added trainings in two Reiki Masters/Teacher Degrees, Rahanni Celestial Healing and Reiki Drum Technique. I also completed an art foundation course and ITEC anatomy and physiology, plus courses in tarot, shamanic study and aura, crystal and colour healing.

Doing Healing

INTUITIVE ART

Art has always been a hobby in my family and whilst I never considered myself an artist, I used painting occasionally in my early 20’s, as an outlet for self-expression.

My dance course encouraged this creative process, giving me permission to explore art as a tool for healing without the inner critic!!

I now paint intuitive art commissions, ‘tuning in’ to what I feel may benefit the receiver or location and working with my love of colour.  My canvases also act as backdrops for poetry and spiritual insights on my greeting cards which you can buy in the Shop with my Power Stone Cards and Chakra Aura Sprays.

NOAHZSPACE

In January, 2022, I lost my amazing son, Noah, aged 25, after his two year battle against leukaemia. Living with the after effects, coping with my loss and coping with P.T.S.D., depression and anxiety have made me appreciate being able to access all the tools I have learnt over the years. This realisation combined with the fact that Noah was a gifted and talented artist, have led to my wanting to set up NoahzSpace in his memory.

This is a gently unfolding venture that will promote health and well-being through creative and spiritual pursuits for young people, including fund raising events for all to enjoy.

Please get in touch if you feel you can help. Donations however big or small gratefully received at NoahzSpace Go Fund Me.
